About the Designer

Rosario Dawson, an actor and activist, and Abrima Erwiah, the former global marketing and communications executive for Bottega Veneta, are the women behind Studio 189. Located between the United States and Ghana, the fashion and lifestyle label is recognized for its conversation-starting skirts, wraps, and shirtdresses. Since day one, Studio 189 has employed local artisans and utilized traditional craft techniques like natural-dyed mud-cloth patterns from Burkina Faso and intricate kente weaving from Ghana into each of its collections.
