About the Brand
The Castaner history dates back to 1776 with the birth of the family’s first espadrille maker, Rafael Castaner, who began the Castaner shoemaking business in a small workshop. The label expanded, and with that expansion came a colorful history that included soling soldiers for the Spanish Civil War and working with Yves Saint Laurent to design the first ever wedge espadrille. From there, the brand took off and ever since, Castaner has been the iconic name in espadrilles.
