Funny, the last review said it ran small but Sam Edelman always runs big for me. For reference, I wear a 7 in hazel and I'm typically a size 8. For these, I sized down to a 7.5 but I could have fit into a 7 if I wanted but wearing thicker socks would be difficult. I have an average size calf at 14-14.5 in and these are a tad loose on me but it works because the top of shaft comes a little above my knee at 5'4." If it was any tighter, then it would dig into my knee and be uncomfortable. If you have wider calves, I do not recommend trying these on because the partial zip will make it difficult for you to take the boots off. Boots are supposed to fit close and follow natural curve of your calves......keep that in mind. Boots that are loose on the calf look BAD - do yourself a favor and measure your calves before trying boots on. You may be surprised with your calf circumference! If you have wide feet, sizing up won't fix the narrowness of a shoe - it only lengthens the shoe.
