Find a similar style from your wardrobe that fits you just right. To take measurements, lay the garment down on a flat surface without stretching the fabric.
Waist
Measure across the garment at the natural waist and double the measurement.

Super Cute
A lot of puff in the sleeve, but the fabric isn't overwhelming, so it's a cute look. As other reviewers noted, the sleeves are on the shorter end (I'm 5'3" and they're a good length on me, but someone with longer arms would struggle.). True to size - I am between an XS and S. Purchased the small and its perfect.

Better than basic
This is such a cute and cozy sweatshirt. I took my usual small, and it fits perfectly. But, be aware that the sleeves are quite fitted (I have little arms, so it fits me well) and they're also not super long (I am 5'4"), which I like, but you may not if you're taller.
My only quibble? It wasn't until getting this sweatshirt that I realized it was (allegedly) dry clean only. It's a sweatshirt! Made of cotton and polyester! Sure, the puffed sleeves may be a bit more delicate, but it seems really silly (and kind of wasteful, of both time and resources) to ask for it to be dry cleaned only. I've washed it once in my front-loading washing machine on cold, and put it in a garment bag, and it's fine.
