About the Designer

Hailing from a family with three decades of experience in the clothing industry, sisters Stephanie and María Catalina Martínez were steeped in fashion as children, and later went on to education at Parsons and stints at Gucci and Cartier. After eventually returning to their native Barranquilla, Colombia, the pair founded their Waimari label, a luxury resortwear line with a focus on traditional handiwork and mindful, locally-focused manufacturing.
